The goal of the LGBT Fallen Heroes Fund is to identify and honor those LGBT Police, Firefighters, Military, and EMS that have given their lives in service to their communities and give recognition to their survivors.

One of the greatest challenges faced by those of us in public safety is the inherent risk of our vocations; sometimes costing the ultimate price – losing one’s life in the line of duty. Many LBGT heroes have died while serving their communities, leaving behind many who love and depend on them.

These men and women put their lives on the line daily. In addition to their dangerous vocations, they often have to hide their orientation for fear of being discriminated against, bullied, or even fired. Many LGBT couples still do not have the right to marry and if an officer is killed in the line of duty or on deployment, the surviving partner and family are often left out of any recognition or support: excluded from memorial services, denied financial support, and possibly shunned by the agency and the community.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

We are actively searching for the survivors of LGBT Police, Firefighter, Military and EMS personnel who have died in the line of duty. We understand this is a complicated undertaking, given the private nature of some officers’ and survivors’ lives. We handle these matters with sensitivity and compassion.

Additionally, our fundraising efforts fund the expenses associated with the annual Fallen Heroes Memorial Service. We are seeking monetary donations as well as other physical items that may be auctioned off during various events.
